Our Curriculum

At our learning centre, we utilise the IMPAQ curriculum, which is specifically tailored for learners in Grades R-7 who are registered with IMPAQ. As the largest home education provider in South Africa, IMPAQ ensures that all lessons and assessments are fully aligned with the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) as outlined by the Department of Basic Education. This curriculum is designed to support learners who thrive outside of the traditional mainstream environment, offering a structured yet flexible approach that accommodates each child’s unique learning needs.

Learning Centre vs School

Minds in Motion is a privately owned and operated learning centre, distinct from a traditional school. Our primary aim is to support parents who have registered their children for home education with the Department of Basic Education and who are utilising the IMPAQ curriculum. Unlike conventional schools, we offer a more flexible and individualised approach to education, ensuring that each child’s unique learning needs are met in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Unique Activities

At Minds in Motion, we offer a range of unique activities designed to cater to the diverse needs of our learners. Our sensory-friendly spaces are equipped with construction and fine motor opportunities, providing a calm and supportive environment for children to explore and grow. We provide expert-approved activities such as outdoor sensory exploration and play experiences, encouraging children to engage with their surroundings in a meaningful way. Additionally, our structured block-play therapy sessions focus on enhancing social skills and improving social interactions among peers. To support physical development, we offer structured movement experiences aimed at developing gross motor skills and fostering a love for sports. Each activity is carefully crafted to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive in their own unique way.
